Who agrees that laundry would be that much more exciting if you had an inspirational laundry room to do your laundry in? Yea, I’m in for that idea of thought! Here are my top 5 laundry room features you have to have. What’s your favorite?
Every laundry room needs a hanging rack. I have a strict rule of thumb that if I am doing laundry once that bell chimes I have to take those freshly tossed clothes and hang them before they wrinkle. AND, having a convenient hanging rack makes this SO do-able! It can be something as simple as a rolling rack or an affixed pole or an expandable drying rack that you can hang your hangers on.
A place to fold and place your clean laundry is essential. For those bath towels and stacks of shirts – you’ve got to have some counterspace to work with. And, if you like folding your towels for display, a large countertop is a MUST!
Plenty of Storage
I am all about placing socks and undies in baskets like this photo. It makes transporting your clothes back to your room and drawers that much easier and let’s face it – we all need ease when doing the sometimes boring task of laundry. Having storage and cabinets to hide your cleaning supplies is also a great dual purpose for your laundry room.
Built In Sink
Something that not every home has is a sink in the laundry room. This can be so useful for delicate items you need to wash in the sink or spot cleaning – or even giving your doggie a bath. Who would love a sink in their laundry room? I know I would!
I think one thing that most people overlook in their laundry space is making sure the space is inspiring to spend time in. I know it might be 30 minutes to an hour of your time a week, but I think it’s important to have this space feel like there is intention in design like any other room of your home. Isn’t this space gorg?
