One thing I know for certain, life is not about having it all figured out.
God humbles me every day and causes me to be so reliant on Him. I have seen this more and more actually in the more recent years, which seems counterintuitive. You’d think the older you get, the more confidence you have in what you are doing.
True wisdom in life has shown to be that it’s not out of my own strength, power or will that life turns out beautifully, but through God’s.
I am a Type A, organized person that has overcome the false living of perfectionism. I used to do weddings for a living and negotiate real estate contracts, there’s not much room for error in dealing with high-stakes environments.
The more I reflect on my life, the more I see God’s protection, provision and guidance. The more I grow in my faith, the more I invite God into all aspects of my life, seeking His will.
Over the last few years I’ve been working in ministry. Walking into rooms where conflict and strong emotions collide, I’ve had to rely fully on the Lord. In those moments, God has shown up in ways that can’t be explained.
Part of this process is letting go and not trying to fix or know all of the answers. I have faith that God is in control, and that He has a plan already figured out.
God has continued to grow me in these high-stakes areas and it’s allowed me to have faith and trust Him in the smaller details of my life as well. From listening to His guidance on what to do with my morning routine, to if I stay silent or speak up in a conversation, He is guiding me always. Now, I don’t always do this perfectly (I’m most definitely a work in progress), but what I can say is that relying on God to direct my steps has been a beautiful gift I get to see unfold throughout my day in the major and mundane tasks.
The good news is, we don’t have to have it all figured out. Life is a lot about uncertainty and leaning into what I call the “gap space” of where we are and where we desire to be. God will guide and direct you where you need to be, even if it doesn’t look linear.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
